Heel Pain is an inflammation of the bottom portion of the heel bone that has a large number of muscles attaching to it. These muscles have undergone fatigue and over use. This over use has got to be controlled by using arch supports and also physical therapy and/or injection to reduce that inflammation that has built tip inside that heel area. In addition, 98% of the time, arch support devices made by an outside laboratory corrects the heel pain that you have.
However, it is useful for you to do stretching exercises that will stretch out the bottom of your foot. Also, stretching out your Achilles tendon and the back muscles of your legs will also improve the pain that you actually have in the bottom of your heel. By atrcctching out these muscles in the back of your upper and lower leg it will decrease the amount of pulling and stress that
these muscles have indirectly on your foot and therefore allow your foot pain to improve as well.
Orthotic appliances (arch supports) that we make impressions for you and then send them to the outside laboratory to have made, cause eradication of your pain in about 98% of my patients. This arch support device therefore usually avoids any type of surgical intervention.
